That brings the price of the 7-inch tablet down to just $183.20, a discount of $45.80.If that's still too steep, Amazon is also offering the the 16GB Kindle Fire HD $135.20 at Amazon for just $136 today, a $33 drop, and the Kindle ereaderfor just $56, a $13 discount. If you want to take advantage of these deals, be sure to act fast because the price will go up tomorrow.The latest Kindle Fire HD sports a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, and a 7-inch 1,280-by-800 display with 216 pixels per inch. It connects to the Web via Wi-Fi. The 7-inch Kindle Fire HDX has a 2.2GHz quad-core processor and a 1,920-by-1,200 display and 323 ppi. The retailer is running new sales every day through Dec. 22.Amazon also today announced a new version of Kindle FreeTime that brings new educational features for parents and children. The update will be delivered automatically in the coming weeks to any Kindle Fire tablet that has the FreeTime app.With the latest version, parents will be able to set educational goals for their kids, such as to read for 30 minutes every day, and ensure the goals are met before their child switches over to cartoons and games. Tap on the "Learn First" button and all non-educational content will be removed from the child's FreeTime library until they have met their daily reading or educational goals. Parents can also now manage their kids' screen time with new time limit features, setting different limits for weekends versus weekdays and specify bedtime curfew.
